Here’s a quick video filmed by Dominic DeVries of Travis Emerson shredding up Chuck Bailey for a half an hour. Travis puts down a couple tricks in this little edit that are effortless for him but practically impossible for most other people. This kid is very unrecognized for how talented he actually is and I hope someone blows him up huge soon. Chance Skateboards is hookin’ him up at least.
Super tech, super chill, super awesome – Travis Emerson
I apologize for the language but God Damn, did you check out this latest teaser from One Love Skateboard Shop? Ty Williamson out with some of the most talented dudes around right now all representin’ for One Love – Lanny DeBoer, Micky Papa, Jesse Holland, Jason Wilson and the man behind it all Dan Pageau. It’s a one day session at Mackin Park and the homies were definitely Mackin’!! Phat gaps and tech tricks, you know that’s what you’re seein’, and then Micky takes over on the handrail Street League style…
For some strange reason I just saw this video now. It premiered so long ago that I don’t even remember why I had to miss it and then I just kept forgetting to watch it. Well it was worth the wait. Some wicked tricks around the local streets portrayed by some awesome filming, David Ehrenreich shows off his skills behind the cam. In association with Quiksilver, Circa, Antisocial and Don’t Sleep Productions, Dave made sure the video was gonna be a hit by filling it with some of the most creative skaters around. Colin Nogue, Cory Wilson, Jamie Maley, Zander Mitchell, Rob Rickaby and many more fill the screen with talent and keep you stoked the entire time.
It’s a sick video, check it out if you haven’t already.
So here’s the Final Part of the Vancouver Island Plunder Tour presented by Ultimate Distribution and Concrete Skateboarding Magazine. 6 Shreddly Sins comes to a close through Campbell River, Courtney and Victoria. You can tell these guys had a great time on this trip and got to skate some rare and funky street spots amongst all the beautiful Skate Parks scattered across Vancouver Island. In this episode, Desmond Hoostie really shows his technical talents on the manual pads and Adam Hopkins finishes it off with a 50-50 down a tough kinked handrail. It seems like it was a good time for all, congratulations to the 6 Shreddly Sinners:
Drew Summersides, Dan Redmond, Jorden Murray, Danny Tumia, Desmond Hoostie and Adam Hopkins.
We new it was going to be a spectacular event as everyone out there in the skateboard world loves Girl Skateboards and their videos are always over the top production wise so therefore they are usually super anticipated. This one was definitely worth the wait, although I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get to see more of the older dudes like Tony Ferguson, Rick McCrank, Rick Howard and Mike Carroll. Marc Johnson had a full part though which was sick.
There were hundreds and hundreds of people lined up down Granville Street and around the corner waiting patiently in hope that the tickets they got weeks ago were gonna get them in the front doors. The theatre filled up quickly and the rowdiness began. I think I saw Dave Stevens pouring beer on to Majed Salem from the top deck. There was a couple firecrackers that went off and of course a huge poster sized paper airplane went flying by. Just another event in Downtown Vancouver, but at least nothing was smashed, flipped over or burned at this one. Once again the skateboarders, who are judged as the crazy ones, and the bad boys of the world, look better than the Local Sports Fans.
The video was awesome, the crowd was in awe, and everyone left with the urge to go skate hard. All I’ll say about the skating is that these guys went off inventing tons of new tricks on deadly obstacles, and to be honest, Vincent Alvarez pretty much shut the whole video down in the first section, but it still got better. Raven Tershy, Sean Malto and many, many more.
If you didn’t get to see it at one of the Premieres, then be sure to grab a copy as soon as it hits the store shelves. This one is a definite must see video….
Here’s the second part of footage from the 6 Shreddly Sins Island Tour with Adam Hopkins, Drew Summersides, Dan Redmond, Jorden Murray, Desmond Hoostie and Danny Tumia. The Tour took place over the summer of 2012 across Vancouver Island. This video shows stop offs in Courtney, Nanaimo, Sooke and everyone’s favourite – Drunken Duncan.
Here’s a quick video from Have 2 Skate Shop Owner Sebastien Fez Tellez just reminding people that even when it’s raining there are still lots of places to skateboard. There’s underground parkades, baseball dugouts, covered ramps, and even inside the shop. When the rain don’t stop, avoid it.
Check out some of the boys rippin’ it up: Brad Muscat, Hippie Mike, Jaden Easton-Ellett, Travis Emerson,, Justin Lawson, Noah Eastwood & Kyle Ensor – simply named “Autumn Rain”
Here’s another stylish video from Ethan Craig filmed all in the month of October completely on a Hi-8 Camera. It’s pretty long but worth a watch, not for the tricks necessarily, or even for all the rippers that are featured in it – Ryley Antoniuk, Gabe Dinorscio, Giet Rolan, Joe Buffalo, Hideki Ishii. Michael Ray, Ryan Lepore, Taylor Senft, Zach Barton, Mike Campbell, Mike Graveline, Adam Hopkins and Many More. But like I said, this video isn’t about who’s in it, it’s about a guy who loves to film, and loves to edit and it shows. You can really see the premeditated visuals that Ethan carries around in his head prior to going out filming by all the fillers, funky angles and intro shots throughout the video. These are the shots that most people think of after the fact while they’re editing their footage and seeing the backgrounds at spots, where Ethan is seeing it as it happens, and in a way, showing up prepared for it.
It’s a fun video, lots of creative spots in ditches and on the back roads of North Van, at the ramp downtown, and of course at Leeside, and it brings back memories while you watch that old crackly style Hi-8 Footage of how skateboarding used to be when I was young…
Grab a snack and sit down for 20 minutes, and enjoy the show
Here’s a video featuring “13 tricks with Will Cristofaro” that I ran across. This video is super sick filled with awesome spots that most people would be nervous to climb on. Edited by Benjamin Lachance for Universe Boardshop in Quebec – it features the talented skating of Jonathan Dawe, Alexis Martel, Jeff Denomme, Felix Boisclair, and of course William Cristofaro. What I really enjoyed watching this video is the obstacles they choose to skate. The tricks are bangin’ but I’m all about the creative spots that people lay those tricks down on. The more that street skating changes to keep skaters off the normal ledge and rail obstacles, the more creative the skaters get in what they look at as skateable and the cooler the videos end up being.
Here’s a quick Promo Video by Mosaic Skateboards featuring one of their Team Riders – Lanny DeBoer. Lanny is one sick dude when you skate with him. He’s got a lot of hard tricks and puts them down often. He likes to skate the weirder obstacles and has the knees to go big. This video’s pretty good, other than the music, but it just doesn’t show all the craziness that Lanny possesses – but it is all park footage so whatever.
A solid video, with appearances from Jeff Holland and Ryan McKellar. Worth a watch…
